Summary

Sticky goldenrod (Mt. Albert goldenrod) is a North American native perennial herb that grows up to 80 cm tall from a branching base, producing several erect stems with basal and proximal cauline leaves; its yellow flower heads are arranged in narrow paniculiform arrays, often viscid-resinous, with heads containing 7–16 ray florets and 6–31 disc florets, blooming roughly from June to September.

In cultivation it serves as a versatile landscape plant for borders, ground covers, or woodland gardens; it tolerates full sun and a range of soils from dry to moderately moist, well-drained, including heavy clay, and is hardy to USDA zones 4–9. It attracts pollinators and beneficial insects, can be propagated by seed or division, and may produce up to about 150 heads per plant, enhancing naturalistic plantings.
